How is MediCourage+ different from private healthcare?
Private healthcare plans often involve expensive subscriptions or insurances which often don’t include scans, diagnoses or cover pre-existing conditions making them objectively and financially unviable for many of us.
MediCourage+ is for those of us who would prefer to keep using the NHS but want to know how to actually get seen quickly and efficiently. MediCourage+ do not provide prescriptions, private GPs or diagnoses, we help you access NHS specialists, referrals and testing.
Why do the prices vary?
We seek to provide affordable help for everyone. The prices will reflect the complexity of your case, your on-going challenges and the complexity of steps needed to progress forwards. Our most expensive package (£70-£140) is still be drastically cheaper than the identical services from a private healthcare provider.
Don’t charities offer these services?
Absolutely, there are so many brilliant charities who provide amazing support for specific conditions. In case they may be of use, we have links to relevant charities in our ‘Resources’ page in hopes that they may be most useful for you.
However, MediCourage+ was founded because our team has a background in health and we noticed there are limitations to these services especially if you require help for multiple interrelated health concerns.
What does each service cover?
Each service provides a cycle of understanding, research and guidance.
For the Guidance Service, you will receive a 60 minute session by phone as we seek to understand your health journey. We encourage you to speak with us about the entirety of your concerns as we can support you with multiple conditions and concerns. You can trust us to conduct research and speak with health advisors to discuss the best way forwards for your case. We create a plan to help you move you forwards. You will receive this plan by email including relevant guidelines, services and organisations.
This is considered one cycle. If you implement our advice and your challenges have changed, it would be considered a new cycle.
For the Practical Support package, you will receive everything in the Guidance package which including a 60 minute session by phone and a support plan sent by email which will include relevant guidelines, services and organisations.
Additionally, we will book your appointment and we will coach you on what to say to move your case forwards during a 30 minute session before you see your GP. Then, you have another 30 minute session with us after your appointment to tell us how it went and we can advise you on your further steps forwards. You will also receive this plan by email including relevant guidelines, services and organisations.
The key difference between the packages is that we can share the burden and labour of GP appointments with you. The GP is often the first point of call for all our health needs and it’s sometimes the largest hurdle. For the Practical Support package, we don’t only equip you to move things forward, but we help you take the first step too.
All services provided by phone can be provided by email except for the initial 60 minute session when you share your health journey.
